Artist's statement
For a long time I haven’t been aware of why I was drawing and painting at all. I understood later that it had to come from an impulse that also kept me alive in a way. I don't have any other motivation than to follow my innermost thoughts and feelings. I am often drawn to the representation of silence and of people who seem vulnerable (including myself: An artist is not someone who has the strongest elbows, but rather someone who is the most sensitive). While drawing I like to follow the movements of dancers or acrobatic performances.
Activisme in art?
Making art on impulse, represent something that moved me, in my material, my lines, my forms, my colors, not figurative, and yet finding a figure for the emotion, or figurative. Only activisme in this sense, namely to protect one's own identity.
Be activist through my art not beside my art.
